Justen Sjong, of Boulder, Colorado, is an accomplished routesetter, to say the least. A climbing aficionado indoors and out, Justen has an uncanny ability to send incredibly hard (see various climbing media outlets for his conquests) and at the same time maintain a dedicated professional career as a setter and elite coach. Justen is one of the few out there who has helped shape the gym industry for many years, and with a new role at Boulder’s new mega gym Movement Climbing and Fitness, one can guess he’ll continue to do so for years to come. A recent interview with Justin can be found here (interview).

Peter Kamitses is one of the most experienced climbers and routesetters in New England. He’s a busy guy too! when he’s not setting at Burlington, Vermont’s Petra Cliffs, he’s putting up new routes around the northeast, or traveling around to great climbing spots repeating 5.14s. Last year he put up his hardest at Rumney, "China Glide" - we’d be scared to see the hard routes he must put up indoors to train on..! - A recent interview with Peter can be found here (interview).

Brent Quesenberry, of Richmond, Virginia, has been routesetting for almost as long as routesetting has been around. While there’s a lot of knowledgeable and accomplished people out there, there are few who are still turning wrenches and have as much history and knowledge about holds and routesetting lore than Brent. Brent spends his days as Head Routesetter at Peak Experiences, and helps coach the gym’s youth climbing team, and when he’s not at the gym, he’s fondling grips for his home wall. - A recent interview with Brent can be found here (interview).
